Jonathan V. Galaviz
Jonathan Galaviz is GMA’s Chief Strategist. He has served as a senior advisor to companies such as Goldman Sachs, Google, and Keppel Corporation on economic strategy, government relations, and Asia-Pacific expansion. He frequently appears on CNBC, BBC, and Bloomberg as one of the nation’s leading experts on governments and business in the Asia-Pacific region.
Galaviz first worked at the U.S. Senate as a professional paid staffer in Washington DC in 1996. From 1998 to 2002 he was a Consulting Manager at Whitman-Hart, a 4,000-person technology services firm and was based in the San Francisco downtown office where he consulted to leading Silicon Valley companies such as Cisco, Kleiner Perkins, and Sequoia Capital.
Jonathan then worked for Mandalay Resort Group (now MGM Resorts International) as a Senior Project Analyst in the corporate technology group. Since late 2002 Mr. Galaviz been under the Global Market Advisors (GMA) platform and its prior entity iterations.
Galaviz has taught strategy, finance, and economics at the university level at various institutions as a guest lecturer. He also served as Interim Head of Campus (Dean) for the University of Nevada’s (UNLV) campus in Singapore in 2011 to conduct a special financial situation turnaround – he successfully completed the turnaround in less than a year.
Jonathan holds an MBA from Oxford University (England) and is a graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI). In 1997 he studied Asia-Pacific finance at the National University of Singapore (NUS) as a foreign exchange scholar. In 2000 he completed the Managing Technology and Strategic Innovation (MTSI) executive education program at Stanford GSB.
